Protecting your privacy
As Nature Intended (referred to as “ANI”, “we” or “us” in this policy) is a company registered in England & Wales (registration number 3824881). We are a Data Controller when referring to the processing of Personal Data and ANI are committed to protecting your privacy and respecting your privacy rights.
How do we use your information?
All the information we collect from you is used by us, or a trusted third-party data processor acting on our behalf to: provide goods and services to you; to make a tailored website available to you; to manage any registered account(s) that you have with us; to verify your identity; for fraud prevention & detection; with your consent, to contact you electronically about promotional offers and products and services which we think may be of interest to you; for market research purposes; to manage customer service interactions with you; and where we have a legal right or duty to use or disclose your information (for example in relation to an investigation by a public authority or in a legal dispute).
Sharing your data with third parties: In order to make certain services available to you, we may need to share your personal data with some of our service partners. These include IT, delivery, identity management and marketing service providers.
When we use third party service providers, we only disclose to them the minimal personal information required for them to provide the service. We have an agreement in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for any other purpose other than for which it is intended. Additionally, we will have confirmed that they apply their own appropriate data protection and security controls.
We will never sell or pass on your personal data to other organisations for marketing purposes.

This is not an exhaustive list, and in specific instances, we may need to collect additional data for the purposes set out in this Policy.
Some of the above personal data is collected directly, for example when you set up an on-line account on our website or send an email to our Head Office or store teams. Other personal data is collected indirectly, for example your browsing or shopping activity. We may also collect personal data from third parties who have your consent to pass your details to us.
Our website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.
The law allows us to collect and use the information set out above for a variety of reasons, including:
- If you have consented
- To perform our contracts with you, such as to deliver your shopping
- Legal compliance: we have a legal obligation to collect and share information, for example in relation to fraud or criminal activity
- Legitimate interest: where we need to use your data as part of the running of our business to provide our goods and services.
How long will we hold your data for?
When we collect your personal information, the length of time that we retain your personal information is determined by several factors. We retain your personal information in accordance with UK law and never retain your information for longer than is necessary to fulfil the purposes that we originally collected it for.
However, we are required by law to keep some data for longer periods than other types and are entitled to hold on to some information where we have a legal right to do so. In general, we will not keep your personal information for longer than seven years after you last shop with us or interact with us before we delete it. Where we no longer require it or are not obliged to keep it, we will delete it sooner.
Your online shopping account will expire two years after you last shop with us and your information will be archived after the third year.
With each marketing communication that you receive from As Nature Intended, you will be given the opportunity to opt-out of receiving future communications by post, telephone, SMS and email. You may of course choose to opt out at any time.
Sharing your information
We may share your data with the following categories of companies, as an essential part of being able to provide our services to you:
- Companies that do things to run our websites, our till systems and to get your online purchases to you, such as the IT companies who support our systems, payment service providers, home delivery companies and the systems that support our customer services teams
- Our security contractors, credit reference agencies, law enforcement agencies, fraud prevention and crime reduction agencies, governmental departments, regulators, courts and tribunals.
- Companies approved by you, such as social media sites (if you choose to link your accounts to us)
We may provide third parties with aggregated but anonymised information and analytics about our customers for analytical and research purposes. We will always make sure that it does not identify you in any way.
Protecting your data outside the EEA
On occasions, in order to deliver some products and services to you, it may be necessary for ANI to share your data outside of the European Economic Area. This is most likely to happen when service providers are located outside the EEA or if you yourself are based outside the EEA.
We have procedures in place to ensure that your data receives the same standard of protection it gets inside the EEA.
All emails that you receive from As Nature Intended will come from an email address ending in As Nature Intended.uk.com. If you receive any emails claiming to be from As Nature Intended which do not end in As Nature Intended.uk.com, these may be fraudulent and should be forwarded to As Nature Intended at firstname.lastname@example.org
Don’t forget your rights
You have the right to request:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you, free of charge in most cases
- The correction of your personal data when incorrect, out of date or incomplete
- That we stop using your personal data for direct marketing purposes
- That we stop any consent-based processing of your personal data if you withdraw that consent
- That we delete your data, or stop processing it or collecting it, in some circumstances
- That we transfer or port elements of your data either to you or another service provider

We always set out to provide the best service for you, so we’ll act on your requests where we can. Sometimes, we may not be able to or may not be required to and in these circumstances, we will explain the reasons for our refusal.
Your right to withdraw consent
Whenever you give us your consent to use your personal data, you have the right to change your mind at any time and withdraw that consent. Lots of the uses of your information set out in the table above are not based on your consent and therefore, we may continue to use your data, where we are legally allowed to.
Checking your identity
To protect the confidentiality of your information, we will ask you to verify your identity before proceeding with any request you make under this Privacy Notice.
If you have authorised a third party to submit a request on your behalf, we will need them to prove that they have your permission to act on your behalf
