We are SO excited to announce New Roots products landed on our shelves. These artisan vegan cheeses conquered everybody at our head office, especially non-vegan colleagues!
New Roots offers a range of organic cashew-based artisan cheeses, made in Switzerland. From Camembert to Ricotta and Cream Cheese, all the different cheeses are crafted from homemade organic cashew milk, following only traditional techniques of fermentation and ripening. You’ll never say vegan cheese is boring again!
This ethical cheese company was founded in 2015 in Thun, Switzerland. They are a team of vegans who are passionate about making delicious cheese that is in alignment with their idea of justice and respect for the environment.
What makes New Roots different from most vegan cheese companies is that they make their cheese following only traditional cheese-making methods that they learned in Switzerland.
From the moment they receive the organic nuts, every step of the process is handmade. Soaking, mixing, filling the molds, coating the fresh cheeses with herbs, setting them in ripening cells to age and, finally packing them, they work carefully, all by hand.
New Roots Soft Cheese – CAMEMBERT
This rich and creamy alternative to Camembert is made according to traditional methods of fermentation and ripening. Enjoy its sophisticated taste on bread or crackers, along with dried fruit.
New Roots Free-The-Goat – RICOTTA
A light and airy Ricotta type cheese. It’s made from organic cashew milk, that is then curdled and fermented following centuries-old artisan cheese techniques. Enjoy it with olive oil, fresh herbs, garlic, on crackers or bread. It’s also the perfect addition to traditional dishes such as pizza and lasagne!
New Roots Fresh Cheeze – HERBES DE PROVENCE, GREEK STYLE, CREAM CHEEZE
Try our Cream Cheeze and our selection of fresh cheezes. Their delicate taste and texture are perfectly balanced by the flavor of the different herbs and spices. Delicious on toasted wholegrain bread and perfect for a lovely cheese board!
